The Supreme Court of Nigeria has made a groundbreaking ruling that confirms only states of the federation have the power of state regulation to regulate lottery and all gaming activities in Nigeria!
This judgment nullifies the National Lottery Act (NLA) in its entirety, paving the way for individual state regulation of their gaming industries. As noted in the Supreme Court’s ruling, lottery regulation falls outside the Exclusive Legislative List of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
This decision is a significant milestone for the gaming industry in Nigeria, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact that effective state regulation will have on our economy and society.

Let’s celebrate this victory in state regulation and work together to build a thriving gaming industry in Nigeria!
